What better way to kill post carnival woes than to schedule a little ‘me’ time, and turn your bedroom or bathroom into your own personal spa? See below for the essentials for a D.I.Y Spa day!
PEACE AND QUIET:
Find a spot in your house that will be ideal for pure serenity. Give social media a break by turning off your phone or at least putting it on silent. It’ll be worth it.
SET THE MOOD:
Get a comfy robe or t-shirt and slippers, bottled water and your favourite snack(s). Set the mood with soothing music and glass or two of wine or prosecco. Set up an essential oil diffuser or light incense sticks to really set the mood.
Fill a jug with water and jazz it up with your favourite (sliced) fruits. Lemon water is a great combination and it boosts the immune system, as well as aids with digestion and skin conditions.
STEAM YOUR FACE:
Boil a kettle and pour it into a bowl with a towel. Allow the towel to cool slightly, then place it over your face and allow your pores to open up. Do this for 5-10 minutes as you relax.
Exfoliate using your favourite facial scrub to get rid of dead skin cells for soft and glowing skin.
BODY SCRUB / HAIR MASK:
Use a body scrub whilst in the shower to thoroughly cleanse your body. Then treat yourself to a relaxing bath as you revive your hair with a good hair mask. Rinse off in the shower, and you’re good to go.
Soft feet? Use a buffer; otherwise use something a bit tougher for calluses.
MANICURE AND PEDICURE:
Amplify your mood by painting your finger and toe nails with your favourite polish!
Spend the rest of the day relaxing, whether that for you means binge watching movies/shows or cooking up your favourite meal!
