Whilst the details surrounding the incident are not yet known, we wish Mr. Roberts a speedy and full recovery,” the statement said.

Reports are that the former Speaker of the House of Assembly was hospitalized after he was found along a roadside in Bexon early Saturday morning with a stab wound.

Police earlier this week confirmed that they are now investigating a report that Roberts stopped his vehicle to offer someone a ride. The police say he was later found in a pool of blood and it is believed that he was also robbed and pushed out of his vehicle, which was later found abandoned in the Cul De Sac area.
