TV and Ra­dio Talk Show Host Delia Do­lor col­lab­o­rates with Soufriere Ra­dio Sta­tion

This Christ­mas sea­son com­mu­nity ra­dio sta­tion 88.5 Soufriere FM and in­ter­na­tion­ally ac­claimed TV and ra­dio pre­sen­ter Delia Do­lor of the Do­lor Fac­tor have joined forces to pi­o­neer a new ra­dio pro­gramme se­ries called, “Food For Thought”. This live in­ter­ac­tive fea­ture will be hosted by Delia Do­lor, along­side Baby Bree of 88.5 FM, with spe­cial guest Ex­ec­u­tive Chef Nigel Mitchel of Ladera Re­sort.

The ra­dio pro­gramme hopes to high­light the more whim­si­cal and en­joy­able side of the Christ­mas sea­son, all the while in­cor­po­rat­ing the fa­mous culi­nary tra­di­tions that make Christ­mas so mem­o­rable. “We are pleased to have on board Ms. Do­lor to pi­lot this fresh and en­gag­ing se­ries to add that ex­tra piz­zazz to our di­ver­sity of pro­gram­ming dur­ing this Christ­mas sea­son and beyond,” quoted Ra­dio Sta­tion Co­or­di­na­tor, Lester Caza­ubon.

The pro­gramme will air at 10 am from Mon­day De­cem­ber 8th, 2014 and run through three con­sec­u­tive Mon­days. Peo­ple can lis­ten on 88.5 FM or on the sta­tion’s on­line feed at http://885soufrierefm.com/.

This is a first in high pro­file part­ner­ships for the ra­dio sta­tion, nes­tled in the rich his­tor­i­cal town of Soufriere.

88.5 FM ini­tially be­gan in 2010 as a project jointly funded by UNESCO and the Soufriere Re­gional De­vel­op­ment Foun­da­tion; it is now solely funded and man­aged by the Soufriere Foun­da­tion.

As a re­sult of its di­verse pro­gramme con­tent and fo­cus on things lo­cal, it quickly grew to be­come the ra­dio sta­tion of choice in the Soufriere basin and en­vi­rons. Ac­cord­ing to Do­minic Alexan­der, Project and Op­er­a­tions Man­ager at the Soufriere Foun­da­tion, “Part­ner­ships that fo­cus on pro­mot­ing things lo­cal, like Delia’s, are key to the suc­cess of com­mu­nity ra­dio. To this end we re­main open to work­ing with other per­sons to achieve our man­date of giv­ing a voice to the peo­ple”. per­fectly in the palm of the hand.
