Los Angeles cops this week were looking to interview boxing champ Floyd Mayweather following a shocking report that he was on Face Time with a rapper when the latter suddenly shot his wife to death. He then turned the gun on himself. It was been described as a horrific murdersuicide.

The New York Daily News quotes Det. Scott Masterson as saying, “We’re reaching out to Floyd Mayweather, trying to set up an interview. We haven’t spoken with him yet. We’re trying to set something up.”

Rapper Earl Hayes on Monday shot and killed his wife Stephanie Moseley a VH1 reality show star, and then shot himself. The rapper was signed to Mayweather’s Money Team label and reportedly shot her over allegations of infidelity. Hayes was said to be on Face Time with Mayweather on Monday morning, ranting about his marital woes, and was allegedly irked even further through Mayweather’s prodding. Hayes threatened to gun down Moseley during the Face Time conversation and Mayweather, who hadn’t realized she was in the apartment, begged him not to go through with it, TMZ reports. It is said that he then lost it and shot his wife who at the time was in a bathtub inside their upscale apartment near the famous Grove shopping center in L.A.

Police went to the Palazzo East complex, where the apartment is located Monday morning, after a neighbour reported hearing a woman’s screams and a barrage of gunshots at around 7:30. “Once at that location, officers went to the apartment but couldn’t make contact. It fit the parameters for a barricaded suspect, so SWAT came in, breached the door and made entry shortly after 9 a.m. They found two individuals shot to death,” Officer Jack Richter told The News.

TMZ is also reporting that Hayes was tortured over Moseley’s alleged infidelities with R&B singer Trey Songz. Moseley was a well-known dancer who performed alongside Britney Spears and Chris Brown and appeared on the VH1 show “Hit the Floor”, a scripted drama about dancers on a fictional NBA cheerleading team. Her reported hookup with Songz took place about two years ago and was the reason for the couple’s break-up according to TMZ.

Hayes, 34, and Moseley, 30, were married in 2008.
