Babonneau National Day Activities Announced
The Babonneau Constituency Council and the Office of the Parliamentary Representative Honorable Alvina Reynolds have organized a programme of activities to celebrate the “Twinning of Babonneau with the town of Grand Bourg, Marie Galante, Guadeloupe.”
The activities commenced on Thursday 11th with an Open Air Concert on the grounds of the Boguis Primary School with the Royal St. Lucia Police Band.
Activities move into high gear on Friday 12th December, with the arrival of a delegation from Grand Bourg, Marie-Galante. The delegation comprises Mayor Madame Maryse Etzol and Councillors, along with the Director and students of Grand-Bourg High School.
While on island, Madame Etzol and the Parliamentary Representative Honorable Alvina Reynolds will sign a joint declaration which will contribute to the consolidation of friendship between the town of Grand Bourg and the Babonneau constituency.
Another major event will be the Babonneau Farmers’ Market which will be held on the Babonneau Church and School grounds on December 13th National Day, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This activity provides an opportunity for farmers from Babonneau to make available their local produce to consumers. The event will include entertainment and sales calls from some of the established businesses on island. That same evening, from 8:00 p.m. the visitors and residents will enjoy “A Night of Cultural Performances” at the multipurpose centre, featuring artistes from Babonneau.
The Babonneau constituency Council invites residents of Babonneau and Saint Lucians from all over to be part of this National Day celebration in Babonneau.
