The Star (St. Lucia) - - LOCAL -

action is looming in the near future, if issues at the Castries Constituencies Council (CCC) are not resolved quickly. This week employees of the CCC served notice to their employers about the pending strike action which they say is over the wrong- ful dismissal of one of their colleagues. They also claim that there are a number of unresolved issues relating to working conditions at the CCC.

It has been reported that The Saint Lucia Seamen, Waterfront and General Workers’ Union served notice, dated Deceber 15, 2014 to Labour Minister Dr. Robert Lewis and the CCC management team about the intended strike action. The date set for the workers’ strike is January 29, 2015.

The union represents at least eighty of the employees.
