Guin­ness Revs Things Up!

On Wed­nes­day Fe­bru­ary 4, 2015, Guin­ness, which is brewed lo­cally by Wind­ward and Lee­ward Ltd, of­fi­cially un­veiled a new look for the stout brand as well as its lat­est Un­der the Crown pro­mo­tion.

Speak­ing at the un­veil­ing, Thomas Leonce, Mar­ket­ing Manager of WLBL ex­plained that the new pack­ag­ing has more style, more soul and more sub­stance. “But it con­tains the same great-tast­ing liq­uid that Saint Lu­cians know and love,” Leonce says.

‘The Guin­ness brand has al­ways been on the cut­ting edge and the stunning trans­for­ma­tion of its iconic For­eign Ex­tra Stout pack­ag­ing re­flects the ad­ven­tur­ous char­ac­ter of the brand and will en­sure it re­mains fresh and cur­rent, while ap­peal­ing to stylish mod­ern Saint Lu­cians, with­out los­ing touch with our core grass roots con­sumers,” Leonce went on to say.

The new bot­tles, which were on dis­play on Wed­nes­day, have the new shape of the bot­tle and the new la­bel de­sign. It fea­tures the stand­out yel­low race­tracks of the lay­er­ing of con­tem­po­rary ty­pog­ra­phy as well as the bold swoop of the Arthur Guin­ness sig­na­ture. On April 2 Guin­ness will un­leash a brand new cam­paign here, pre­ceded by the Un­der the Crown pro­mo­tion dubbed ‘Rev Up to Guin­ness’ which is cur­rently un­der­way.

Speak­ing on Wed­nes­day Guin­ness Brand Manager, Sylvester Henry, ex­plained how the pro­mo­tion works. “Start­ing this week, with ev­ery pur­chase of a Guin­ness, con­sumers will have the chance to win some ex­cit­ing prizes in­clud­ing, the best of all, in­stant free cold Guin­ness,” he said with a smile. “But se­ri­ously we have lots of ad­di­tional great prizes in­clud­ing cash, Beats by Dre Head­phones, Sam­sung Galaxy S5 smartphones, HTC Smartphones and Nokia Lu­mia all from Dig­i­cel. Ad­di­tion­ally per­sons can win Smart TVs, Ipod Touch and Guin­ness mer­chan­dise in­clud­ing goblet glasses, Guin­ness watches and Guin­ness travel bags. “And for the grand prize, which is the ‘Rev Up’ part of things, one lucky win­ner will walk away with a brand new black 2014 Yamaha SZ6R mo­tor­cy­cle com­plete with hel­met and rid­ing jacket,” Henry re­vealed.

The mo­tor­cy­cle was then brought out on dis­play where the me­dia got a closer look at the jewel in this new Guin­ness pro­mo­tion.

To be el­i­gi­ble for a chance of win­ning the grand prizes all per­sons need to do is col­lect 6 mo­tor­cy­cle crowns and fill the en­try form and drop it in the boxes at the var­i­ous par­tic­i­pat­ing out­lets and re­demp­tion cen­tres.

The public launch of the Guin­ness ‘Rev Up’ pro­mo­tion takes place this Sun­day Fe­bru­ary 8 at the Kak­abef in Vieux Fort. It will fea­ture the Eval­u­cian Band along with the 2014 Groovy Soca King Arthur as well as DJ HP, DJ Reds and oth­ers. There will be Guin­ness on spe­cial and fans can also get a closer look at the re­mark­able Yamaha SZ6R.
