Guinness Revs Things Up!
On Wednesday February 4, 2015, Guinness, which is brewed locally by Windward and Leeward Ltd, officially unveiled a new look for the stout brand as well as its latest Under the Crown promotion.
Speaking at the unveiling, Thomas Leonce, Marketing Manager of WLBL explained that the new packaging has more style, more soul and more substance. “But it contains the same great-tasting liquid that Saint Lucians know and love,” Leonce says.
‘The Guinness brand has always been on the cutting edge and the stunning transformation of its iconic Foreign Extra Stout packaging reflects the adventurous character of the brand and will ensure it remains fresh and current, while appealing to stylish modern Saint Lucians, without losing touch with our core grass roots consumers,” Leonce went on to say.
The new bottles, which were on display on Wednesday, have the new shape of the bottle and the new label design. It features the standout yellow racetracks of the layering of contemporary typography as well as the bold swoop of the Arthur Guinness signature. On April 2 Guinness will unleash a brand new campaign here, preceded by the Under the Crown promotion dubbed ‘Rev Up to Guinness’ which is currently underway.
Speaking on Wednesday Guinness Brand Manager, Sylvester Henry, explained how the promotion works. “Starting this week, with every purchase of a Guinness, consumers will have the chance to win some exciting prizes including, the best of all, instant free cold Guinness,” he said with a smile. “But seriously we have lots of additional great prizes including cash, Beats by Dre Headphones, Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphones, HTC Smartphones and Nokia Lumia all from Digicel. Additionally persons can win Smart TVs, Ipod Touch and Guinness merchandise including goblet glasses, Guinness watches and Guinness travel bags. “And for the grand prize, which is the ‘Rev Up’ part of things, one lucky winner will walk away with a brand new black 2014 Yamaha SZ6R motorcycle complete with helmet and riding jacket,” Henry revealed.
The motorcycle was then brought out on display where the media got a closer look at the jewel in this new Guinness promotion.
To be eligible for a chance of winning the grand prizes all persons need to do is collect 6 motorcycle crowns and fill the entry form and drop it in the boxes at the various participating outlets and redemption centres.
The public launch of the Guinness ‘Rev Up’ promotion takes place this Sunday February 8 at the Kakabef in Vieux Fort.
