The Chairman, the Treasurer and the Acting Secretary/Assistant Secretary have all resigned their posts of the Saint Lucia Calypso Association effective Wednesday February 18, 2015.

According to a statement from the former Chairman, David Jordan, the resignations were anticipated for months but were delayed as he sought to ensure all outstanding bills due by the Association were honoured and paid. “In view of the recent payments by the institutions that collaborated with the Association to host recent events in the past, the Association has now settled all service providers,” the letter read.

The Chairman went on to express his appreciation during the past year but wished to note his own inability to continue to be the Chairman at this time. He failed to go into specifics but expressed his best wishes to the fraternity of Calypso and Soca artists and thanked the members of the Executive and the Chairpersons of the various Committees and the many “well wishers” during the tenure. He also trusts that the General Council will identify new candidates to constitute an Executive as an immediate priority.
