Can Guy Block Bound­aries De­ci­sion?

Op­po­si­tion MP Guy Joseph has ap­plied to the courts to pre­vent the gover­nor gen­eral from mak­ing any or­der in terms of “any draft sub­mit­ted to her un­der Sec­tion 57 (6) of the Con­sti­tu­tion for a pe­riod of 14 days.”

Ac­cord­ing to court doc­u­ments, the claimant “shall is­sue and serve his claim form sup­port­ing state­ment of claim on a date to be determined by the court.”

Hear­ing is sched­uled for 27 Fe­bru­ary, 2015 at 9 a.m. “on no­tice to re­spon­dents”— the Bound­aries Com­mis­sion, the prime min­is­ter and the at­tor­ney gen­eral.

The ap­pli­ca­tion was filed on Tues­day this week.
