MOST COLORFUL RUN TO HIT SAINT LUCIA
The inaugural staging of Dash – The Independence Color Run, a fivekilometer fun run, is set to host hundreds of participants as they run through showers of colored powder in celebration of health, happiness and national pride for Saint Lucia’s 36th year of Independence.
Dubbed, “A Kaleidoscope of Happiness”, the untimed event, organized by Liive Productions Inc. will be held on February 23, 2015 beginning at 6:00 am. The race will begin at the Choc Estate roundabout, as participants will become a moving canvas as they pass through three-color zones representing colors of the national flag. The finish line will be at the entrance of Rodney Bay which will lead into the “Independence Village” where patrons can enjoy live entertainment while participating in multiple color throws!
The cost for adults is $35 and $20 for children under 12 which will include a Dash T-shirt, race bib and a packet of powder. In addition to celebrating our independence, Dash -The Independence Color Run aims to raise funds for the Child Development and Guidance Center.
CDGC is a registered nonprofit organization, located in La Pansee, Castries and is run by Dr. Kim Gardner, Paediatrician. It is a facility that provides Comprehensive Developmental Assessments, Early Intervention and Therapeutic Services for children. CDGC’s aim is to ensure that children from birth to the age of sixteen receive all the necessary support and help that is required. This will enable them to achieve their full potential and become contributing members of society.
