St Lu­cia Elec­tric­ity Ser­vices Limited (LUCELEC) has named Moses Montoute of its Trans­mis­sion and Dis­tri­bu­tion Depart­ment as the 2014 LUCELEC Em­ployee of the Year. Mr Montoute joined the com­pany in Au­gust 2012 and has been rec­og­nized mul­ti­ple times as an Em­ployee of the Quar­ter.

The Awards Com­mit­tee broad­ened the scope of this year’s awards, rec­og­niz­ing a Tech­ni­cal Su­per­vi­sor of the Year in Kei­th­son Charles of the Trans­mis­sion and Dis­tri­bu­tion Depart­ment, as well as Ad­min­is­tra­tive Su­per­vi­sor of the Year Vil­lian Dolcy of the Cus­tomer Ser­vices Depart­ment.

Mr Charles has been em­ployed with the com­pany since Septem­ber 2000 while Ms Dolcy has been em­ployed with LUCELEC for 16 years.

LUCELEC also rec­og­nized two 2014 De­part­ments of the Year; the Small Depart­ment of the Year - Cor­po­rate Com­mu­ni­ca­tions Depart­ment and the Large Depart­ment of the Year- The Fi­nance and Ac­counts Depart­ment.

The ma­jor awards were part of the an­nual LUCELEC Staff Ap­pre­ci­a­tion Cer­e­mony, held Fri­day Fe­bru­ary 27, 2015.

Spe­cial Achieve­ment Awards were pre­sented to Corn­phia Simon, Al­fred Pros­pere, Bar­nett Ge­orge, Dayne Alexander, Or­mond Reece and Ran­dolph Daniel.

Ad­di­tion­ally, a new cat­e­gory of awards in recog­ni­tion of the com­pany’s Core Val­ues of Ac­count­abil­ity, Ex­cel­lence, Car­ing and Ethics were given to 18 em­ploy­ees whose work embodied some or all of th­ese val­ues.

Af­ter laud­ing staff for their ef­forts in 2014, Man­ag­ing Direc­tor Trevor Louisy, in look­ing ahead to the com­pany’s 2015 work pro­gramme, spoke of in­vest­ments in al­ter­na­tive en­ergy.

Six re­tirees- An­thony St Marthe, Gabriel James, Gre­gory Chan­dler, Claudius May­nard, Christine Wil­liams and An­thony Eti­enne – were also pre­sented with a Re­tirees Award.
