The Marchand branch of the Saint Lucia Library Services will be hosting an Easter Arts Fiesta on April 14-15. The Marchand Library is housed in the Entrepot Human Resource Centre and caters for schools and residents in Marchand, Entrepot and surrounding areas, including Waterworks Road and Bagatelle.

The Easter Arts Fiesta, directed at students on Easter vacation, will comprise two segments. The first segment which runs from 9am-12 noon is directed at teens and young adults and will feature some of the best of Saint Lucia’s young spoken artists including Black Crayon, TK Da Boss and Soyah Selassi. As part of the activity, musicians such as Asher Small and Poetry Central (a band) will also engage the audience. Students will therefore have an opportunity to listen to and learn from those artistes.

The second segment which runs from 1pm-3pm will offer training to children in craftmaking. The facilitator of this activity will be Miss Eva Williams, teacher at the Vide Bouteille Primary School.

The organizer of Easter Arts Fiesta, Librarian Miss Oliviann Weekes, believes that not only can Arts inspire young people to become more creative but it can also generate a deeper interest in genres of literature such as poetry and storytelling.

Persons registering for this activity should contact the Central Library or Oliviann Weekes at 726 3699/ email: Oliviweekes@gmail.com

Thank you for all the delightful entries in our Easter pets competition. Many were pictured masquerading as bunnies including our winner, Max who was relieved to find out that the photo shoot wasn’t an audition for a stint at the Playboy mansion.

Congratulations Max!
