Valen­tine’s Day Mur­der Trial Wraps Up!

The mur­der trial of soca artist Jonathan St. Rose and his two male co-de­fen­dants neared its end here on Thurs­day April 30. The co-de­fen­dants are Lyden Blasse and Marvin Terry Nel­son.

The three are ac­cused of the mur­der of Dwayne “Chubby” James who was found dead in an area in Marc­hand on Fe­bru­ary 14, 2009.

Af­ter be­ing on re­mand now for six years, the trial be­gan in earnest here in Fe­bru­ary. This week the court heard from the mother of St. Rose’s son, who is a wit­ness in the case. The judge and jury also heard from a num­ber of char­ac­ter wit­nesses for the three men, in­clud­ing Dr. Bird and the grand­mother of Marvin Nel­son.

On Thurs­day the de­fense of­fered its closing ar­gu­ments in the case.
