Valentine’s Day Murder Trial Wraps Up!
The murder trial of soca artist Jonathan St. Rose and his two male co-defendants neared its end here on Thursday April 30. The co-defendants are Lyden Blasse and Marvin Terry Nelson.
The three are accused of the murder of Dwayne “Chubby” James who was found dead in an area in Marchand on February 14, 2009.
After being on remand now for six years, the trial began in earnest here in February. This week the court heard from the mother of St. Rose’s son, who is a witness in the case. The judge and jury also heard from a number of character witnesses for the three men, including Dr. Bird and the grandmother of Marvin Nelson.
On Thursday the defense offered its closing arguments in the case.
