Digicel, in keeping with its cultural development philosophy, has officially announced its commitment and support to Carnival 2015 as Platinum Sponsors for the seventh consecutive year. The Press Launch for Carnival 2015 was hosted by the Carnival Planning and Management Agency (CPMA) on Monday April 27th at the Bay Gardens Beach Resort.
Digicel revealed its investment of EC $150,000 in its cheque presentation to the CPMA on Monday’s launch as a reaffirmation to the partnership in delivering the island’s premiere cultural celebration. Digicel has not only pledged its commitment to CPMA but also to various carnival bands such as Just 4 Fun, R3D Unlimited, Royalites Xtreme and, as the season unravels, will continue to unveil its various sponsorships and partnerships for other carnival initiatives islandwide.
Louise Victor, Marketing & Communications Executive at Digicel, in delivering her remarks at the launch said, “Digicel believes it is critical to continue to invest in events, observations and initiatives like Carnival, as it not only creates a more culturally conscious citizenry but also allows for reach beyond our shores in showcasing the beauty of Saint Lucian culture. For Digicel it is critical to continue to not only preserve the culture but St. Lucia’s heritage.” She went on to add, “Our support extends well beyond just the CPMA, from individual bands, both senior and junior, community carnivals, carnival parties and unique initiatives that contribute to the overall Carnival experience. “
Digicel remains committed to supporting the Ministry of Creative Industries, the Carnival Planning and Management Authority, carnival stakeholders and the people of St. Lucia in developing the ultimate carnival product and to ensure that the 2015 Carnival season is an extraordinary experience for one and all.
