CFL sup­ports var­i­ous World En­vi­ron­ment Day ini­tia­tives

World En­vi­ron­ment Day is cel­e­brated ev­ery year on June 5th to raise global aware­ness of the is­sues af­fect­ing the en­vi­ron­ment and to take pos­i­tive ac­tion to pro­tect our eco-sys­tem, to con­serve en­ergy, re­duce waste and to pro­tect our planet.

To com­mem­o­rate this year’s ob­ser­vance, Con­sol­i­dated Foods Limited has taken a proac­tive ap­proach to en­cour­age its cus­tomers to think green and to use less plas­tic. From Wed­nes­day June 3rd to Satur­day June 6th all CFL Re­us­able Bags (Su­per J IGA, Mega J and gl food­mar­ket) will be priced at just $1.00.

The com­pany is also invit­ing the public to visit Su­per J IGA Rod­ney Bay and gl food­mar­ket on Satur­day June 6th to make an en­vi­ron­men­tal pledge.

CFL is part­ner­ing with the Min­istry of Sus­tain­able Devel­op­ment and the Ro­taract Club of Gros Islet on the pledge ini­tia­tive. Per­sons pledg­ing will have the op­por­tu­nity to qual­ify to win ex­cit­ing prizes.

This year the com­pany has also thrown its sup­port be­hind the Saint Lu­cia Na­tional Trust in host­ing ‘World Wide Views 2015’, a global dis­cus­sion on cli­mate change and en­ergy. CFL is one of the main spon­sors of the event which pro­vides a plat­form for Saint Lu­cians to learn how to mit­i­gate the im­pacts of cli­mate change and in­flu­ence poli­cies that will shape their fu­ture and that of fu­ture gen­er­a­tions.
