The Lions Club of Gros Islet has a new president. He is Lion Wayne Monrose, a charter member of the club which was chartered in January 1992. Lion Wayne, who held the position of president 21 years ago, moving on to the positions of zone and region chairman respectively, has accepted to again lead his club. The newlyelected president's theme for the Lionistic year 2015/2016 is “A new beginning”.

Said Lion Wayne: “The emphasis is to focus on inviting, most aggressively, serviceminded men and women in the community to be a part of the Gros Islet club, to enhance the quality of service and to increase significantly the number of projects to be undertaken. This is an early call to persons in the community to offer themselves for a free orientation into Lionism.”

The Lions motto is “We serve."

The Lionistic year runs from July 1st, 2015 to June 30th, 2016.
