St Lu­cia Elec­tric­ity Ser­vices Lim­ited (LUCELEC)’s com­mit­ment to the preser­va­tion and growth of the coun­try’s cul­ture is the rea­son for the com­pany’s con­tin­ued sup­port for Saint Lu­cia’s largest cul­tural show­piece – Saint Lu­cia Car­ni­val 2015.

LUCELEC will sup­port a num­ber of events and or­ga­ni­za­tions as part of this year’s fes­tiv­i­ties in­clud­ing Sil­ver Spon­sor­ship of the Saint Lu­cia As­so­ci­a­tion of Reg­is­tered Tents (START), an amal­ga­ma­tion of all the ca­lypso and soca tents on is­land namely the Take Over Tent, Soca Vil­lage In­ter­na­tional, South Ca­lypso Tent, De So­caLypso Re­vue and NG Up­surge.

LUCELEC will also part­ner with the Royal Saint Lu­cia Po­lice Force to host Kaiso Head­quar­ters, an an­nual ca­lypso com­pe­ti­tion among po­lice of­fi­cers.

In ad­di­tion, LUCELEC is spon­sor­ing the Just Us Kids Car­ni­val Band led by Cul­tural Ac­tivist Barry Ge­orge. The Ju­nior Car­ni­val Band is a mul­ti­ple win­ner of the Ju­nior Band of the Year ti­tle and will this year fea­ture a LUCELEC sec­tion as part of its por­trayal of “Com­mer­cial Break”.

The J’Ou­vert bands Mud­sters and Bad Com­pany will be spon­sored by LUCELEC which has also part­nered with Qual­ity En­ter­tain­ment to pro­duce the inau­gu­ral Ju­nior Soca Monarch com­pe­ti­tion. This event is slated for Thurs­day July 2, 2015 at the Na­tional Cul­tural Cen­tre and will fea­ture orig­i­nal soca mu­sic from four­teen com­pet­ing sec­ondary school stu­dents.
