Homi­cide in Morne Du Don

Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the cir­cum­stances sur­round­ing the death of 35-year-old Ten­nyson Lionel also known as “ten cents” of Ciceron, Castries.

On Thurs­day, July 30, 2015 about 2:30 a.m. po­lice re­sponded to a re­port of shoot­ing at Morne Du Don, Castries.

Upon ar­rival, the po­lice dis­cov­ered Lionel in a prone po­si­tion on the road in what ap­peared to be a pool of blood.

Lionel was trans­ported to the Vic­to­ria Hos­pi­tal where he was pro­nounced dead by a med­i­cal doc­tor. He re­port­edly sus­tained two gun­shot wounds.

Lionel who re­port­edly cel­e­brated his birth­day on Wed­nes­day, July 29 was the vic­tim of a rob­bery and chop­ping in­ci­dent last year. In 2012 he was charged for pos­ses­sion of a con­trolled drug and pos­ses­sion with the in­tent to sup­ply a con­trolled drug to which he pleaded guilty.

Lionel’s death marks the thir­teenth homi­cide in Saint Lu­cia for 2015.
