Saint Lu­cia Records Four­teenth Homi­cide

Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the cir­cum­stances sur­round­ing the death of 18-year-old Curtis Charlery of Morne Du Don, Castries.

On Thurs­day, Au­gust 6, 2015, po­lice re­sponded to a shoot­ing at Morne Du Don, Castries.

Upon ar­rival, po­lice dis­cov­ered the body of Charlery ly­ing mo­tion­less on the ground. Also ly­ing on the ground was Ar­mani Paul of Morne Du Don, Castries.

Both in­di­vid­u­als sus­tained mul­ti­ple gun­shot wounds to the body.

They were trans­ported to the Vic­to­ria Hos­pi­tal where Charlery suc­cumbed to his in­juries. Paul is presently ad­mit­ted at the Vic­to­ria Hos­pi­tal in crit­i­cal con­di­tion.

This is the four­teenth homi­cide for the year 2015. Wed­nes­day. The Ma­noel Street of­fice houses the large and medium Tax­payer Sec­tion. Ac­cord­ing to a state­ment from the IRD there was no loss or dam­age to the depart­ment’s records and “the depart­ment is work­ing as­sid­u­ously to have the of­fice re­opened by Mon­day, Au­gust 10, 2015.

The IRD apol­o­gizes for any in­con­ve­nience caused.
