The Saint Lu­cia Tourist Board re­ports a suc­cess­ful third an­nual Saint Lu­cia North Amer­i­can Show­case, held this year from July 30 through Au­gust 2 at the John­son Cen­tre in Rod­ney Bay, cul­mi­nat­ing in a re­wards cer­e­mony for top per­form­ing tour op­er­a­tors. Build­ing on last year’s suc­cess, the Show­case at­tracted more than 25 in­ter­na­tional whole­sale and tour op­er­a­tor rep­re­sen­ta­tives and 26 lo­cal ho­tel and DMC part­ners.

The three-day event brought to­gether key tourism stake­hold­ers from the United States, Canada and Saint Lu­cia that in­cluded the Saint Lu­cia Ho­tel & Tourism As­so­ci­a­tion, the Min­istry of Tourism, tour op­er­a­tors, in­dus­try ex­perts and hote­liers. The North Amer­i­can Show­case is an an­nual mar­ket­ing event hosted by the Saint Lu­cia Tourist Board to con­nect tour op­er­a­tors from the US and Cana­dian mar­kets with own­ers and ex­ec­u­tives of tourism re­lated ser­vices from Saint Lu­cia. Among its ob­jec­tives is the forg­ing of new busi­ness part­ner­ships and build­ing prod­uct knowl­edge among those who sell Saint Lu­cia through a des­ti­na­tion ex­plo­ration ex­pe­ri­ence.

“Saint Lu­cia salutes our tour op­er­a­tors and part­ners for their con­tin­ued hard work and ded­i­ca­tion, as they are largely re­spon­si­ble for the record break­ing tourism num­bers the is­land has been ex­pe­ri­enc­ing” says Louis Lewis, di­rec­tor of tourism for the Saint Lu­cia Tourist Board. “Show­case gives Saint Lu­cia the op­por­tu­nity to celebrate these com­bined suc­cesses and con­tinue mean­ing­ful con­ver­sa­tions that en­hance our over­all prod­uct.”
