Security Guards employed with Secure St. Lucia Ltd. throughout the company’s operational units around the island began a “Work to rule” as from Monday August 10, 2015.

The “Work to rule” protest by the security guards is a mild attempt to demonstrate their disgust with the snail’s pace manner in which the Department of Labour is handling a $700,000 retroactive payment in overtime due to them by Secure St. Lucia Ltd.

Some two weeks ago the Department of Labour guaranteed a meeting which would bring the Management of Secure St. Lucia Ltd, the Minister of Labour and officials from the National Workers Union (NWU) together to bring closure to this matter. To date that has not happened.

The Leadership of the NWU is standing firm behind the action of the workers and hopes that this matter will be resolved urgently.
