Kal-El the hero!
On Monday August 31 Trinidad & Tobago celebrated its Independence anniversary. One of the activities to mark the occasion was the annual National Awards where a fouryear-old became the youngest awardee. Kal-El Joel Maxwell Alleyne was awarded the Humming Bird Medal (Bronze) for Bravery/Gallantry. Kal-El - the name of Superman when he was a boy - climbed a 300-foot precipice to get help for his trapped mother and aunt after their car ran off the North Coast Road to Maracas in August.
