Ready. Set. Walk! This Sun­day Oc­to­ber 4th, 2015 CIBC First­Caribbean will host its fourth an­nual Walk for the Cure in aid of both the St. Lu­cia Can­cer So­ci­ety and Faces of Can­cer. The walk co­in­cides with the Cana­dian Breast Can­cer Foun­da­tion’s CIBC Run for the Cure, and will be held in each ter­ri­tory CIBC First­Caribbean op­er­ates through­out the Caribbean.

The Walk for the Cure has been met with in­creased cor­po­rate sup­port and en­gage­ment with a num­ber of spon­sors com­ing on board show­ing their sup­port of our can­cer so­ci­ety and sup­port group. Re­gional spon­sors in­clude Ernst & Young, Fu­jitsu, Guards­man, Massy United In­sur­ance, Tata Con­sul­tancy Ser­vices and San­dals.

Gold spon­sors are Dig­i­cel and Sugar Beach, a Viceroy Re­sort while sil­ver spon­sors in­clude LIME and M&R Ltd. The bronze spon­sor­ship level in­cludes Anse Chas­tanet, Bay Gar­dens Beach Re­sort, Blue Wa­ters, BRAWO, COURTS, Felly Belly, Flois­sac Lawyers, Greene & As­so­ci­ates, Massy Dis­trib­u­tors, Rit­u­als, Sea Is­land Cot­ton Shop and Touch Ther­a­pies Day Spa.

Coun­try Man­ager, Ladesa James-Wil­liams, notes that, “Thanks to the gen­er­ous sup­port of our spon­sors we have al­ready eclipsed funds raised in 2014 and the monies will be used to cover can­cer treat­ment cost for St Lu­cians who are bravely bat­tling and liv­ing with can­cer. We wish to again thank our spon­sors and also thank the hun­dreds of res­i­dents that reg­is­tered for the walk and look for­ward to a great day on Sun­day.”

It’s not too late to show your sup­port as fundrais­ing ac­tiv­i­ties and do­na­tions con­tinue through­out the month of Oc­to­ber and in­clude en­tic­ing raf­fles, bingo, book sales and bake sales. On Sun­day the walk will com­mence at 6:00 a.m. at the CIBC First­Caribbean Rod­ney Bay Branch. From the Rod­ney Bay Branch, the route will take par­tic­i­pants to the Mon­gi­raud Gap, through Monchy, through La Re­traite then cul­mi­nat­ing at Pi­geon Is­land. Reg­is­tra­tion will also be pos­si­ble on the day.
