MAN DIES AF­TER POI­SONOUS SUB­STANCE WAS POURED DOWN HIS THROAT

AMorne Du Don man, who was re­port­edly robbed and poi­soned by masked ban­dits on Mon­day, has died.

O’Brien An­toine, 44, was said to have been robbed of a quan­tity of cash and a cor­ro­sive poi­sonous sub­stance poured down his throat by his as­sailants. The in­ci­dent al­legedly oc­curred at about 8:00 a.m. on the Choc Beach, Castries.

An­toine was trans­ported to the Vic­to­ria Hos­pi­tal where he was ad­mit­ted for treat­ment.

The vic­tim, who lived at Black Stars, Morne du Don, passed away hours later the fol­low­ing day.

An­toine, who was a plumber by pro­fes­sion, sur­vived an at­tack by ban­dits last year, af­ter be­ing stabbed and robbed.

Po­lice have since launched an in­ves­ti­ga­tion into the cir­cum­stances sur­round­ing the death of An­toine, a press state­ment from the RSLPF says.
