Vagina Monologues Next Weekend

The Star (St. Lucia) - - LOCAL -

The Vagina Monologues, written by Eve Ensler and directed by Hayden Forde, is made up of a number of monologues read by a varying number of women. Each of the monologues deals with an aspect of the female experience touching on various matters, for example: sex, love, menstruation and rape. Some of these experiences include “funny moments”. However, the recurring theme throughout the piece is the vagina as a tool of female empowerment and the ultimate embodiment of individuality.

This production emanated from a workshop into a play and has been re-enacted in several countries. Every year a new monologue is added to highlight a current issue affecting women around the world.

Local actors from Gem Stones Production will be presenting “Vagina Monologues” on the Roof Top of The Arts Café in downtown Castries on the evenings of 4th and 5th December, 2015 at 8pm.

Sponsors of the event are Arts Café, GTM. The production and working team anticipates a wide audience to come and “laugh, cry, and engage” as a pre-Christmas activity for adults.
