For­eign Na­tional charged with Money Laun­der­ing

On Fri­day De­cem­ber 4th, 2015 at about 12:01 a.m. po­lice con­ducted an op­er­a­tion at an ho­tel sit­u­ated in the north of the is­land.

Dur­ing the op­er­a­tion, a search con­ducted in the room of Reglio Je­sus Patino Reyes, a Venezue­lan na­tional, re­vealed the sum of US $7,610, Eu­ros 17,950, Bo­li­vars VEF 4, six dol­lars in Chi­nese cur­rency and EC $5.

Reyes was taken to the Vic­to­ria Hos­pi­tal where he was given a lax­a­tive re­sult­ing in the ex­pul­sion of thirty one rolls of cash equiv­a­lent to Eu­ros 14,000.

On Tues­day De­cem­ber 8th, 2015 po­lice for­mally charged Reyes for the of­fence of money laun­der­ing. He made an ap­pear­ance be­fore the First Dis­trict Court on Wed­nes­day De­cem­ber 9th when the mat­ter was ad­journed to Jan­uary 14th, 2016.

AWar­rant of Ar­rest in the First In­stance has been is­sued for Ben­jamin Col­ly­more of Mon­gi­raud, Gros Islet for the at­tempted mur­der of Uriah Far­rel of Rod­ney Bay, Gros Islet.

On Satur­day Novem­ber 7th, 2015 at about 9:20 p.m. Far­rel sus­tained a sin­gle gun­shot wound to the waist area whilst at Rod­ney Bay, Gros Islet.

Col­ly­more is con­sid­ered to be armed and dan­ger­ous.
