Argentine Ambassador meets Saint Lucian Nobel Laureate
On Wednesday 9th December 2015 the Ambassador for the Argentine Republic H.E. Luis Beltrán Martínez Thomas held a courtesy call with the Saint Lucian Literature Nobel Laureate Prize Winner Derek Walcott at his residence. During the warm meeting, the Ambassador Martínez Thomas and Walcott discussed various topics including culture and in particular the possibility of cultural relations between Saint Lucia and Argentina.
Derek Walcott referred to various aspects of his literary and artistic trajectory and anecdotes featuring various renowned Argentine writers. Appropriately, Ambassador Martínez Thomas gifted to the Nobel Prize Winner works from various Argentine writers; Jorge Luis Borges, Ernesto Sabato and Julio Cortázar.
