Miss Caribbean UK Crowned
The Grand Finale of the Miss Caribbean UK beauty pageant was held on Saturday 5th December at the Shaw Theatre on the Euston Road, London.
The Antigua & Barbuda beauty, Amy Harris-Willock, stole the show and won the prestigious competition with her beauty, athleticism and eloquence. She also went on to win the best-dressed with AgyeFrance, among others, with compliments from celebrity judges such as the beautiful Rachel Christie.
The pageant was launched last year to showcase and promote the Caribbean countries. With its logo ‘Positively Promoting the Caribbean’ the event aims to raise awareness of issues relating to Caribbean people in the UK and the wider Diaspora by inspiring, informing and uniting both those taking part and the UK audience.
Organisers Clayton and Jacqui Brown aim to use pageantry to unify, inspire, educate, entertain and celebrate the historical and cultural impact of the Caribbean. They state that, “MCUK is more than simply a beauty competition; our winner will be an ambassador for this culturally rich and beautiful part of the world.”
Patrons shared an unmissable night of culture and entertainment produced and directed by awardwinning stage director and choreographer, Reuben P Joseph. There were also dignitaries and celebrated faces from sport, media, TV and film, music and politics eager to support the promotion and hit the red carpet for the December pre-Christmas Grand Finale soiree.
