Senator Fedee?

The Star (St. Lucia) - - LOCAL -

Last week Opposition Senator Ezechiel Joseph resigned from the Upper House. The decision the STAR has since learnt was at the behest of his party, the United Workers Party, to which he agreed. The reason given was that the UWP wanted to give a younger candidate the exposure and the experience of senate debates.

The former Babonneau MP and former Minister of Agriculture’s resignation will take effect from December 31, 2015. While the UWP has been tight-lipped about Joseph’s replacement the STAR has been reliably informed that Dominic Fedee will take up the position as UWP Senator come January 2016.

In April of this year, Dominic Fedee won a run off in Anse La Raye/Canaries to contest that seat at the next general elections on a UWP ticket. He was later endorsed by the party’s central body.

Dominic Fedee has an extensive background in journalism and has worked with DBS and Radio Saint Lucia in the past. He is also an avid cricketer and cricket commentator. Currently he serves as Sandals Resorts International regional public relations manager.
