Thanks to the STAR
Ithought I’d write to thank you and The Star for what has proved to be most helpful for our family over the last four years. My mother, Gloria Greenwood, was murdered at her home in St Lucia 4 years ago and since then we have been on a horrendous journey (like so many others) to seek justice and get some closure. As you can imagine this continues to be an arduous, frustrating and at times seemingly impossible task, often made more difficult by the lack of information available to us in the UK.
We’ve found that The Star has often provided us with background information about the state of play in SLU in relation to matters such as the Forensic Lab, Police, Court System, Office of the DPP, etc, all of which have had, and continue to have, a huge knock-on effect on all criminal cases. Without this understanding of what is going on behind the scenes we would have felt that we were in an even more desolate situation, and on a hiding to nowhere. This does not, however, mean we are at all accepting of the appalling process but at least we know this shocking “service” is being meted out to everyone. This does not make it excusable in any way. The powers that be should drop their collective heads in shame about allowing this situation to occur. God help them should anything happen to their nearest and dearest.
The candid view expressed in the paper has been most helpful and we look forward to the continuing ‘support’ of The Star!
With very best wishes for a peaceful Christmas to - Anne Pearson
