Bloody start to 2016: 2 homicides
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of 42-year-old Marcus Nelson alias “Bowcha” of Morne Repos Hill, Laborie.
On Tuesday January 5th, 2016 about 6: 30 p.m. Nelson was discovered motionless in a supine position, on the verge of a road in Morne Repos Hill. His body had what appeared to be a puncture wound to the chest and a near severed right wrist.
He was pronounced dead on the scene by a medical doctor.
A post mortem examination conducted on the body of Nelson revealed that he died as a result of carcinogenic and hemorrhagic shock due to a stab wound to the chest.
This is the second homicide for the year 2016.
On January 1st, 2016 45-year-old Joseph Herman of Capitol Hill, Castries became the first homicide victim for this year.
Herman was admitted to the Victoria Hospital on Thursday December 31st, 2015 after sustaining multiple stab wounds to the body on Jeremie Street, Castries.
On Friday January 1st, he succumbed to his injuries.
On Monday January 4th, 2016 a post mortem conducted on the body of Joseph Herman revealed that he died as a result of respiratory failure and hemorrhagic shock, secondary to multiple stab wounds to chest.
One woman with whom Herman allegedly had a feud for a number of years is in custody in connection with this matter.
