Bloody start to 2016: 2 homi­cides

Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the cir­cum­stances sur­round­ing the death of 42-year-old Mar­cus Nel­son alias “Bowcha” of Morne Re­pos Hill, La­borie.

On Tues­day Jan­uary 5th, 2016 about 6: 30 p.m. Nel­son was dis­cov­ered mo­tion­less in a supine po­si­tion, on the verge of a road in Morne Re­pos Hill. His body had what ap­peared to be a punc­ture wound to the chest and a near sev­ered right wrist.

He was pro­nounced dead on the scene by a med­i­cal doc­tor.

A post mortem ex­am­i­na­tion con­ducted on the body of Nel­son re­vealed that he died as a re­sult of car­cino­genic and hem­or­rhagic shock due to a stab wound to the chest.

This is the sec­ond homi­cide for the year 2016.

On Jan­uary 1st, 2016 45-year-old Joseph Her­man of Capi­tol Hill, Cas­tries be­came the first homi­cide vic­tim for this year.

Her­man was ad­mit­ted to the Vic­to­ria Hos­pi­tal on Thurs­day De­cem­ber 31st, 2015 af­ter sus­tain­ing mul­ti­ple stab wounds to the body on Jeremie Street, Cas­tries.

On Fri­day Jan­uary 1st, he suc­cumbed to his in­juries.

On Mon­day Jan­uary 4th, 2016 a post mortem con­ducted on the body of Joseph Her­man re­vealed that he died as a re­sult of res­pi­ra­tory fail­ure and hem­or­rhagic shock, sec­ondary to mul­ti­ple stab wounds to chest.

One woman with whom Her­man al­legedly had a feud for a num­ber of years is in cus­tody in con­nec­tion with this mat­ter.
