EU Di­plo­mats to hold talks with PM

As we were about to go to press on Fri­day the STAR re­ceived word that Mikael Bar­fod, Am­bas­sador/ Head of the EU Del­e­ga­tion based in Bar­ba­dos, with Vic­to­ria Dean, Bri­tish High Com­mis­sioner based in Bar­ba­dos, and Eric de Mous­saye, Am­bas­sador of France based in Saint Lucia, will call on Hon­or­able Prime Min­is­ter Kenny D. An­thony on Thurs­day 14th Jan­uary, 2016.

In De­cem­ber of last year the EU’s rep­re­sen­ta­tive wrote to the Prime Min­is­ter seek­ing clar­i­fi­ca­tion on the IMPACS re­port, call­ing on those re­spon­si­ble to en­sure due process ac­cord­ing to the Saint Lucia crim­i­nal law sys­tem.

The Euro­pean del­e­ga­tion will also take the op­por­tu­nity to dis­cuss with the Hon­or­able Prime Min­is­ter key is­sues re­lated to de­vel­op­ment co­op­er­a­tion, in­clud­ing the new Owen-EU Hos­pi­tal. Af­ter the meet­ing with the Prime Min­is­ter, the me­dia will be in­vited to a press con­fer­ence by the three Heads of Mis­sion at 12.30pm at the Al­liance Française at Pointe Seraphine.
