Plans are well un­der­way for the stag­ing of ac­tiv­i­ties for the an­nual No­bel Lau­re­ate week in hon­our of the is­land’s two No­bel Lau­re­ates Derek Wal­cott and the late Sir Arthur Lewis. Both men share the birth­day of Jan­uary 23.

No­bel Lau­re­ate week is held un­der the pa­tron­age of Gov­er­nor Gen­eral Dame Pear­lette Louisy and this year’s theme is Cel­e­brat­ing Ex­cel­lence: Trans­form­ing Lives. The ac­tiv­i­ties will be of­fi­cially launched on Tues­day Jan­uary 12th at Gov­ern­ment House.
