Mi­coud Li­brary Work­shops

Mi­coud Li­brary and the com­mu­nity ac­tion group Peo­ple Em­pow­er­ing Peo­ple (PEP) will host a se­ries of free weekly work­shops in Fe­bru­ary 2016 to help ad­dress the is­sue of dou­ble-digit un­em­ploy­ment fig­ures in Mi­coud District. The work­shops will fo­cus on spe­cific job-seek­ing skills for young peo­ple in­clud­ing prac­tice in cre­at­ing re­sumés and cover let­ters, fill­ing ap­pli­ca­tions and in­ter­view­ing for em­ploy­ment as well as ba­sic com­puter lit­er­acy and per­sonal fi­nance.

Work­shops will be held each Wed­nes­day morn­ing in Fe­bru­ary, from 10:00 am – 12:00 noon at Mi­coud Li­brary.

The fo­cus of the work­shops will be for un­em­ployed/ un­der­em­ployed young peo­ple ages 18-25, but any mem­ber of the pub­lic is wel­come to at­tend.

Mem­bers of PEP, ed­u­ca­tors and busi­ness pro­fes­sion­als in the Saint Lu­cia com­mu­nity will as­sist with the pre­sen­ta­tions in the work­shops, pro­vid­ing guid­ance and in­spi­ra­tion to the new gen­er­a­tion of young peo­ple com­ing to the work­force.

The work­shops are sup­ported by a grant from U.S. AID, ad­min­is­tered through the US. Peace Corps.
