An ex­cel­lent Op­por­tu­nity to pur­sue Higher Education in Tai­wan

Ap­pli­ca­tions for the 2016 “Tai­wan Schol­ar­ship”, ICDF and Med­i­cal schol­ar­ship pro­grammes may be sub­mit­ted from now, the dead­line be­ing 15th March, 2016. Th­ese schol­ar­ship pro­grammes pro­vide op­por­tu­ni­ties to young tal­ented Saint Lu­cians to study in Tai­wan for Bach­e­lor, Masters or PhD de­grees. An awardees list will be posted on the Em­bassy’s web­site on 30th June, 2016.

A briefing on the schol­ar­ship pro­grammes will be held by the Em­bassy in mid-Fe­bru­ary, the venue, date and time to be an­nounced on the Em­bassy’s web­site.

All ap­pli­ca­tion doc­u­ments should be de­liv­ered to the Em­bassy by the dead­line of 15th March, 2016. Any de­liv­ery be­yond that date, or de­liv­ery with­out all re­quired doc­u­ments, will not be ac­cepted. De­liv­ered ap­pli­ca­tions will not be re­turned to ap­pli­cants.

The Em­bassy will in­ter­view ap­pli­cants. The date for the in­ter­views is pro­vi­sion­ally sched­uled late Fe­bru­ary or early March. The date and venue will be an­nounced at a later date.

For the Med­i­cal schol­ar­ship ap­pli­cants, both writ­ten exam and in­ter­view will be held in the Em­bassy. The writ­ten exam cov­ers top­ics on English, Chem­istry and Bi­ol­ogy; the date is ten­ta­tively sched­uled as 22nd April, 2016. The in­ter­view will be via skype with a pro­fes­sor from Tai­wan; the date is pro­vi­sion­ally sched­uled for 27th to 28th April, 2016. The ac­tual dates will be an­nounced lin due course.

For ap­pli­cants who have pre­vi­ously re­ceived any of the above-men­tioned schol­ar­ships from the govern­ment of the Re­pub­lic of China (Tai­wan), and would like to ap­ply for the 2016 schol­ar­ship for higher education, their pre­vi­ous grad­u­a­tion date in Tai­wan and re­turn to Saint Lu­cia should be prior to 31st July, 2015. Please at­tach a copy of the stamped page of ar­rival record from your pass­port or other re­lated proof when hand­ing in ap­pli­ca­tion data.

Ap­pli­cants should be of Saint Lu­cian na­tion­al­ity, and shall not have any pre­vi­ous record of de­nial, with­drawal or re­fusal of the grant of any schol­ar­ship from the govern­ment of the Re­pub­lic of China (Tai­wan).

Please read care­fully the ‘Guide­lines for the MOFA Tai­wan Schol­ar­ship Pro­gramme’ then fill out the ‘Ap­pli­ca­tion Form for the MOFA Tai­wan Schol­ar­ship Pro­gramme’ and de­liver it to the Em­bassy with a copy of high­est education cer­tifi­cate and tran­script au­then­ti­cated by the Min­istry of Education, Hu­man Re­source De­vel­op­ment and Labour or rel­e­vant au­thor­i­ties, two ref­er­ence let­ters, and a Po­lice Clear­ance Let­ter.

For Saint Lu­cia Govern­ment Of­fi­cials who are in­ter­ested in the schol­ar­ship pro­grammes, the ap­proval doc­u­ments from the Train­ing Divi­sion of the Min­istry of the Pub­lic Ser­vice, Sus­tain­able De­vel­op­ment, En­ergy, Sci­ence and Tech­nol­ogy will be needed for the ap­pli­ca­tion.
