An excellent Opportunity to pursue Higher Education in Taiwan
Applications for the 2016 “Taiwan Scholarship”, ICDF and Medical scholarship programmes may be submitted from now, the deadline being 15th March, 2016. These scholarship programmes provide opportunities to young talented Saint Lucians to study in Taiwan for Bachelor, Masters or PhD degrees. An awardees list will be posted on the Embassy’s website on 30th June, 2016.
A briefing on the scholarship programmes will be held by the Embassy in mid-February, the venue, date and time to be announced on the Embassy’s website.
All application documents should be delivered to the Embassy by the deadline of 15th March, 2016. Any delivery beyond that date, or delivery without all required documents, will not be accepted. Delivered applications will not be returned to applicants.
The Embassy will interview applicants. The date for the interviews is provisionally scheduled late February or early March. The date and venue will be announced at a later date.
For the Medical scholarship applicants, both written exam and interview will be held in the Embassy. The written exam covers topics on English, Chemistry and Biology; the date is tentatively scheduled as 22nd April, 2016. The interview will be via skype with a professor from Taiwan; the date is provisionally scheduled for 27th to 28th April, 2016. The actual dates will be announced lin due course.
For applicants who have previously received any of the above-mentioned scholarships from the government of the Republic of China (Taiwan), and would like to apply for the 2016 scholarship for higher education, their previous graduation date in Taiwan and return to Saint Lucia should be prior to 31st July, 2015. Please attach a copy of the stamped page of arrival record from your passport or other related proof when handing in application data.
Applicants should be of Saint Lucian nationality, and shall not have any previous record of denial, withdrawal or refusal of the grant of any scholarship from the government of the Republic of China (Taiwan).
Please read carefully the ‘Guidelines for the MOFA Taiwan Scholarship Programme’ then fill out the ‘Application Form for the MOFA Taiwan Scholarship Programme’ and deliver it to the Embassy with a copy of highest education certificate and transcript authenticated by the Ministry of Education, Human Resource Development and Labour or relevant authorities, two reference letters, and a Police Clearance Letter.

For Saint Lucia Government Officials who are interested in the scholarship programmes, the approval documents from the Training Division of the Ministry of the Public Service, Sustainable Development, Energy, Science and Technology will be needed for the application.
