The Star (St. Lucia) - - INTERNATIONAL -

Zika is generally a mild viral disease that is spread by the bite of an infected female Aedes aegypti mosquito; the same mosquito which spreads the Dengue Fever and Chikungunya. To protect you and your family, make a habit of wearing light coloured long-sleeved shirts and long pants especially early in the morning and in the evening; Use mosquito repellent on exposed skin and on clothing; Ensure drums and other water storage containers are properly covered; Inspect your premises for breeding sites for mosquitoes at least once a week and remove anything which can cause breeding.
