Miss Regina Pierre and Mr. Gar­vey Es­nard, Shop Stew­ards from Sugar Beach Ho­tel in Soufriere and Na­tional Farm­ers & Gen­eral Work­ers Co­op­er­a­tive Credit Union, both branches of the Na­tional Work­ers Union (NWU) will leave Saint Lu­cia on Sun­day March 13, 2016 for Guade­loupe.

While in the French ter­ri­tory, the two will join trade union of­fi­cials from the French, Dutch, Span­ish and English speak­ing re­gion for a re­gional con­fer­ence on In­ter­na­tional Labour Sol­i­dar­ity and De­fense of the Trade Union Move­ment. This ac­tiv­ity is be­ing hosted by the Union Générale des Tra­vailleurs de Guade­loupe (U.G.T.G.).

Par­tic­i­pants will dis­cuss the cur­rent sta­tus of the trade union move­ment and will pro­duce a work­ing doc­u­ment that would plot the way for­ward for the move­ment. The ses­sions are sched­uled for March 15th -16th, 2016. The Na­tional Work­ers Union is an af­fil­i­ate of the U.G.T.G.
