Bette Midler challenges Kim Kardashian to use her naked selfie for charity
Kim Kardashian should turn that mirror shot into a money shot, says her new nemesis Bette Midler.
The triple-threat diva challenged Kardashian and her fans Wednesday to use the reality star’s now-infamous bathroom nude to raise cash for Midler’s charity, Stages for Success, which renovates outdated public school auditoriums.
“Put your selfie to work ... for a good cause! Donate, RT, I’ll match $$ 2-1!” she tweeted, sharing an apparently Photoshopped version of her own sultry selfie and a link to the Stages for Success donation page. Midler’s dare was the latest swing in her days-long feud with Kardashian, who drew scorn from the “Hocus Pocus” star and other celebrities with her barely censored naked photo Monday.
As Piers Morgan and actress Chloe Grace Moretz condemned the risque shot, the Grammy winner piled on, quipping, “If Kim wants us to see a part of her we’ve never seen, she’s gonna have to swallow the camera.”
The polarizing socialite hit back, slamming Midler as a “fake friend” who’d turned on her after once bestowing a “gift” — reportedly a tree the actress had planted years ago in Kardashian’s honor.
She also cheekily asked the Broadway vet to “send nudes.”
I never tried to fake friend you,” Midler retorted Tuesday. “Looks like anyone can take a selfie but not everyone can take a joke...”
“Kim Kardashian wants me to send her my nudes!” she continued Wednesday. “I’ll send them right over but the lighting’s bad right now since she threw all that shade!”
Following a Twitter rampage against her haters, Kardashian owned her female empowerment in an essay on her website Tuesday — coincidentally International Women’s Day.
I am a mother. I am a wife, a sister, a daughter, an entrepreneur and I am allowed to be sexy,” she wrote.
Despite the many jabs, the selfie queen has received support from frenemy Amber Rose, who invited her to join a SlutWalk event, and Sharon Osbourne and Emily Ratajkowski, who shared their own nude snaps in solidarity.
Kim Kardashian drew a firestorm of criticism for her nude bathroom selfie Monday.
