National Youth Council to Launch Project with JetBlue Pilot
The Saint Lucia National Youth Council (NYC) has partnered with JetBlue Airways’ Pilot, Neil Justin to launch the #FullPotential project. Pilot Justin is a Saint Lucian and has been working with JetBlue now for 11 months. The initial phase of the programme will work to inspire and empower youth of Saint Lucia through a series of presentations and other activities targeting secondary and primary school students.
On March 15th, 2016, Neil Justin, the JetBlue crewmember together with members of the executive of the Saint Lucia National Youth Council will visit the Entrepot Secondary School, the St. Mary’s College and the Canaries Primary School. First Officer Justin will speak to the students on his journey becoming a pilot and answer questions that they may have on careers in the aviation industry. “I am committed to giving back to my country, Saint Lucia. I look forward to this partnership with the NYC. I’m particularly excited about meeting and interacting with students across the island,” said Pilot Justin.
Neil Justin’s volunteer work is in line with JetBlue Airways’ encouragement of its crewmembers to volunteer and give back to the communities they serve in a meaningful way. The 2nd Vice President of the Saint Lucia National Youth Council, Tevin Shepherd noted “We are excited about this partnership with Pilot Justin to inspire the young people of Saint Lucia to think and be positive. We look forward to strengthening our relationship with Pilot Justin and JetBlue Airways to promote positive youth development in Saint Lucia and the wider Caribbean.”
The event is organized by the Saint Lucia National Youth Council in partnership with Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority and the leading regional aviation Facebook group- Aviation LoversHelen and Beyond.
