The United Workers Party, through the party’s Women’s Arm, hosted its 3rd Annual Women’s Awards Dinner on Saturday, 12th March, 2016. This initiative was held on the heels of the recent celebrations of International Women’s Day and in merriment of prolific women across the island. The party awarded over twenty women from the various constituencies who have made significant contribution to the development of their communities and the country at large. The dinner was well attended by more than 350 women and 200 men hailing from various parts of the island.

Awarded were the likes of Ms Joyce Auguste, a retired music instructor who has made a tremendous contribution to folk music and school music systems.

Ms Jeanille Bonterre, the Executive Officer at Nexus Networks and Journalist at One Caribbean Television made a special appearance as the guest speaker for the evening.

The Women’s Arm of the United Workers Party is proud to have honoured the women who through their intellect, passions and skill give back unwaveringly; the women who faithfully seek out and make our communities and nation a better place. The United Workers Party says an earnest and heartfelt thank you to all the women awarded and all those who have not yet been awarded as they continue to effect change every day in the biggest and smallest of means.
