Minister Fletcher Delivers Keynote Address at High Level Caribbean Meeting
Athree-day regional meeting on Cyber Security and Cybercrime is taking place in Saint Lucia, co-hosted by the Government of Saint Lucia, the Commonwealth Secretariat, the Caribbean Telecommunications Union and CARICOM IMPACS.
On Friday 18th March, 2016 Ministers with responsibility for National Security and for Telecommunications met to approve a high level action plan and receive expressions of interest by resource providers and development partners to support the implementation of the plan.
The opening ceremony of the High Level Ministerial Segment of the meeting, which takes place today at 9.00 a.m. at the Bay Gardens Hotel, will be addressed by the Executive Director of CARICOM IMPACS, the Head of the Law Development Section of the Commonwealth Secretariat, and the Secretary General of the Caribbean Telecommunications Union. Saint Lucia’s Minister for Public Service, Sustainable Development, Energy, Science and Technology, Hon. James Fletcher, will deliver the keynote address.
The meeting has attracted a number of experts from international organizations such as Microsoft Corporation, Interpol, the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the US Department of Justice and the Organization of American States (OAS).
