Heineken Kicks Off UCL Pro­mo­tions

You may have al­ready no­ticed the re­branded Heineken bill­boards and bus shel­ters across the is­land. The sig­na­ture tro­phy that cap­tures the eyes and imag­i­na­tion could mean only one thing - UEFA Cham­pi­ons League fever is on - and once again Heineken is a big part of the lo­cal pro­mo­tions, not to men­tion the highly an­tic­i­pated and pop­u­lar view­ing party for the fi­nals.

Heineken is a long­stand­ing spon­sor of the UEFA Cham­pi­ons League and, as such, the brand has kicked off its an­nual lo­cal UCL pro­mo­tion with su­per­mar­ket give­aways, ra­dio and me­dia blitz as well as bar pro­mo­tions is­land­wide where per­sons can win ex­clu­sive VIP passes to the view­ing party and other prizes.

Heineken is also a spon­sor of the an­nual Fan­tasy Foot­ball or­ga­nized by the lo­cal FA, which co­in­cides with the in­ter­na­tional matches of the UEFA Cham­pi­ons League.

Ac­cord­ing to Heineken Brand Man­ager Gaius Harry, the Heineken brand has a long-stand­ing spon­sor­ship with the UEFA Cham­pi­ons League as the global, premier sport­ing event fits per­fectly with the Heineken brand, be­ing the world’s most in­ter­na­tional pre­mium beer. Heineken will be bring­ing its spon­sor­ship to over 220 coun­tries and ter­ri­to­ries in­clud­ing Saint Lu­cia, via mar­ket­ing and PR ef­forts with the theme Cham­pion the Match.

“For this year’s cam­paign we are fo­cus­ing on at least six bars which will be the fo­cal points for our brand­ing, Heineken spe­cials and pro­mo­tions dur­ing the games,” Harry says. Th­ese bars will in­clude Plants Place in Den­nery, River Bank in Mi­coud; Trip­ple D’s on Jeremie Street in Cas­tries; Rain­bow 2000 in Grande Riviere and Whis­pers in Soufriere.

Ad­di­tion­ally Heineken has kicked off its UCL su­per­mar­ket pro­mo­tions. “For ev­ery two six­packs pur­chased one will re­ceive an in­stant UCL gift while stocks last as well as an en­try form for a chance to win even more amaz­ing prizes in­clud­ing UCL mer­chan­dise,” Harry says.

The grand prize-win­ner will ei­ther choose to watch the UEFA fi­nals on his/her prize of a 55 inch flat screen TV or claim their VIP spot at the view­ing party in May.

The view­ing party will once again be held at the Derek Wal­cott Square and is ex­pected to be big­ger and more ex­cit­ing this year.

The Heineken UEFA Cham­pi­ons League pro­mo­tion runs from March 21-May 15, 2016. The 2016 UEFA Cham­pi­ons League Fi­nals will be played at the San Siro sta­dium in Mi­lan, Italy on May 28, 2016.
