Lu­cozade En­er­gizes In­ter-Com­mer­cial Fut­sal League

The 2016 In­ter-Com­mer­cial Fut­sal League or­ga­nized by the Saint Lu­cia Cham­ber of Com­merce, In­dus­try and Agri­cul­ture gets un­der­way here this week. The com­pe­ti­tion is part of the Cham­ber’s healthy life­styles for work­ing per­sons pro­gramme. It was launched on Mon­day March 7 at the Beause­jour In­door Sports Fa­cil­ity, where the matches will also be played. Fut­sal is ac­tu­ally a mod­i­fied form of soc­cer, played with five play­ers per side on a smaller, typ­i­cally in­door fa­cil­ity.

One of the spon­sors of this year’s event is Lu­cozade, an um­brella name for a se­ries of en­ergy and sports drinks that has grown ex­tremely pop­u­lar with ath­letes, sports men and women and per­sons who are sim­ply about a healthy and en­er­gized life­style.

On match days, Peter & Com­pany Dis­tri­bu­tion, dis­trib­u­tors for Lu­cozade, will have avail­able prod­uct sam­pling of the many dif­fer­ent flavours of Lu­cozade. Ad­di­tion­ally, the drink will be avail­able to pa­trons at a spe­cial price on those days.

Ac­cord­ing to Brand Man­ager for Lu­cozade Damian Fran­cois, Peter & Com­pany is pleased to be as­so­ci­ated with the Saint Lu­cia Cham­ber of Com­merce, In­dus­try and Agri­cul­ture and the In­terCom­mer­cial Fut­sal League Tour­na­ment. “We see this as a great part­ner­ship, rec­og­niz­ing the in­volve­ment of the hard work­ers of the var­i­ous com­pa­nies in­volved and be­ing able to of­fer some­thing as in­vig­o­rat­ing and re­vi­tal­iz­ing as Lu­cozade,” Fran­cois says.

The Fut­sal tour­na­ment runs for 4-6 weeks, four days weekly: Wed­nes­days, Thurs­days, Fri­days and Satur­days and kicked off Wed­nes­day March 16 with three games sched­uled to be played.

This year’s tour­na­ment is ex­pected to be big­ger and bet­ter with more teams, more en­ter­tain­ment and a host of fun en­gage­ment ac­tiv­i­ties. Teams have been di­vided into eight groups with four com­pa­nies each.
