Home Affairs Minister congratulates new Commissioner of Police
Police are investigating a fatal accident which occurred on Monday March 29, 2016 about 7:55 p.m. on the Millennium Highway, Castries. Motor omnibus registration number TX 361, driven by Egbert Nelson of Sunny Acres, Castries was travelling in a northern direction when it collided with Derrick Eugene of Ciceron, Castries.
At the time of the accident, Eugene was wheelchair-bound and travelling in the opposite direction.
Eugene was transported to the Victoria Hospital where he was pronounced dead by a medical doctor.
This is the third fatal road traffic accident for 2016.

The Ministry of Home Affairs and National Security, he says, is looking forward to continuing to provide support to the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force.
Police Commissioner Mr. Severin Monchery officially took up his appointment yesterday, Friday April, 1, 2016.
Mr. Monchery was enlisted in the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force in 1985 and has worked in many departments of the organization during his 31-year tenure in law enforcement.
The minister extends his best wishes to all the newlyappointed Assistant Commissioners of Police and also expresses his thanks and appreciation to Mr. Errol Alexander during his stint as acting Commissioner of Police.
