Martin Dorville is IGA International Retailer of the Year
Earlier this month Martin Dorville, the Head of Super J IGA supermarkets in Saint Lucia was among four retailers from around the world who received the coveted title of 2016 IGA International Retailer of the Year. This award was bestowed at the IGA Global Rally in Las Vegas culminating three days of workshops on the importance of grocery retail as an industry and highlighted new trends, provided suggestions to issues which confront retailers and was overall an opportunity for networking exchange and dialogue.
Mr. Dorville joined retailer counterparts from Alaska, China and Australia at the awards ceremony where they were honoured for achieving exemplary excellence in their retailing operations and advancing the IGA brand in Marketing and Corporate Social Responsibility efforts.
Addressing over 500 retailers who gathered to celebrate the many successes of IGA supermarkets across the globe, Dorville said he was humbled by the recognition. He said, “This award is really a tribute to Super J IGA customers and the Super J IGA team.” He also acknowledged the strong foundation which had been set by the previous owners of Super J IGA, in particular former Managing Director Mr. Ander Chastanet who retired in 2013.
The Independent Grocers Alliance (IGA) includes nearly 5,000 supermarkets worldwide, with stores in the United States and more than 30 countries around the globe including Russia, China, South Africa and Australia.
