At a brief ceremony held at the Corinth Secondary School on Tuesday April 26, representatives of Northwest Limited, agents for Westlake Tyres, presented a set of laptop bags to IT students. According to Lawrence Bain of Northwest, as part of the company's corporate social responsibility it has always placed much emphasis on youth development. “This involvement in youth projects involves a tennis tournament as well as the Chairman's award given to the best student of the engineering department at the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College,” Bain said. “So when Westlake informed us of this bag drive and they eventually sent us these high quality knapsacks, we were thrilled to have the opportunity to once again put this towards our youth." In accepting the gifts, head of the IT department of the school, Elisha Payne, expressed his gratitude on behalf of the parents, principal and students. “This will go a long way in protecting the laptops that are being provided to students and we are very thankful to Northwest for this gesture,” Payne said.

The students were later presented with the bags which they immediately put into use.
