Officer Ted King receives top Regional Award
Police Officer Corporal Ted King is back home after receiving a prestigious regional award in Suriname. King was bestowed with the award of Top Caribbean Community Police Officer, stemming from the Association of Caribbean Commissioners of Police (ACCP) 2016 Regional Recognition Awards Programme.
The awards ceremony was held on May 17, 2016.
King edged out Sergeant Dianne Dumont of Grenada (1st runner up) and Constable Odale Mulgrave of the Cayman Islands (2nd runner up).
Is is reported that twenty-five countries in the Caribbean submitted the work history of officers over the past year to qualify for the top prize.
In December 2014 Amalgamated Security Services Limited, in partnership with the ACCP, launched the ‘Amalgamated Security Services Regional Recognition Awards Programme for Public Law Enforcement’. The decision to implement the awards programme was taken at the ACCP’s Annual General Meeting in Miami.
Last year, eight outstanding Caribbean Police Officers were recognized at the inaugural Awards Ceremony held in St. Kitts.
