Of­fi­cer Ted King re­ceives top Re­gional Award

Po­lice Of­fi­cer Cor­po­ral Ted King is back home af­ter re­ceiv­ing a pres­ti­gious re­gional award in Suri­name. King was be­stowed with the award of Top Caribbean Com­mu­nity Po­lice Of­fi­cer, stem­ming from the As­so­ci­a­tion of Caribbean Com­mis­sion­ers of Po­lice (ACCP) 2016 Re­gional Recog­ni­tion Awards Pro­gramme.

The awards cer­e­mony was held on May 17, 2016.

King edged out Sergeant Dianne Du­mont of Gre­nada (1st run­ner up) and Con­sta­ble Odale Mul­grave of the Cay­man Is­lands (2nd run­ner up).

Is is re­ported that twenty-five coun­tries in the Caribbean sub­mit­ted the work his­tory of of­fi­cers over the past year to qual­ify for the top prize.

In De­cem­ber 2014 Amal­ga­mated Se­cu­rity Ser­vices Lim­ited, in part­ner­ship with the ACCP, launched the ‘Amal­ga­mated Se­cu­rity Ser­vices Re­gional Recog­ni­tion Awards Pro­gramme for Pub­lic Law En­force­ment’. The de­ci­sion to im­ple­ment the awards pro­gramme was taken at the ACCP’s An­nual Gen­eral Meet­ing in Mi­ami.

Last year, eight out­stand­ing Caribbean Po­lice Of­fi­cers were rec­og­nized at the in­au­gu­ral Awards Cer­e­mony held in St. Kitts.
