Homicide in Monchy
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of 23-year-old Samson Anthony Polius of Monchy, Gros-Islet.
On Thursday May 26, 2016 about 7:30 p.m. police responded to a chopping incident in Monchy.
Upon arrival they discovered Polius lying on his back, unresponsive with what appeared to be a chop wound to the neck.
Polius was transported to the Victoria Hospital where he was pronounced dead by a medical doctor.
An individual is in custody assisting with investigations.
This is the thirteenth homicide for the year 2016.
It is alleged that Polius had been involved in an argument with another young man of about the same age when the incident occurred.
Polius was chopped several times about the body, including the neck.
It is also alleged that the assailant is said to have returned home where it is reported that he began vomiting, apparently after the full realization of what he had done hit home. He was subsequently taken into police custody.
