Homi­cide in Monchy

Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the cir­cum­stances sur­round­ing the death of 23-year-old Sam­son An­thony Polius of Monchy, Gros-Islet.

On Thurs­day May 26, 2016 about 7:30 p.m. po­lice re­sponded to a chop­ping in­ci­dent in Monchy.

Upon ar­rival they dis­cov­ered Polius ly­ing on his back, un­re­spon­sive with what ap­peared to be a chop wound to the neck.

Polius was trans­ported to the Vic­to­ria Hos­pi­tal where he was pro­nounced dead by a med­i­cal doc­tor.

An in­di­vid­ual is in cus­tody as­sist­ing with in­ves­ti­ga­tions.

This is the thir­teenth homi­cide for the year 2016.

It is al­leged that Polius had been in­volved in an ar­gu­ment with an­other young man of about the same age when the in­ci­dent oc­curred.

Polius was chopped sev­eral times about the body, in­clud­ing the neck.

It is also al­leged that the as­sailant is said to have re­turned home where it is re­ported that he be­gan vom­it­ing, ap­par­ently af­ter the full re­al­iza­tion of what he had done hit home. He was sub­se­quently taken into po­lice cus­tody.

The de­ceased Sam­son Polius.
