JICA/JOCV SAINT LUCIA OFFICE ANNOUNCES ITS FIRST TWO TRAINING COURSES FOR FY 2016
The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is proud to announce its first two training courses under the Knowledge Co-Creation Programs (KCCP) for Fiscal Year 2016 titled “Enhancement of Sustainable Small Island Tourism” and “Merchandize Branding and Marketing by Utilizing Local Resources.”
The first course will examine measures to enhance the competitiveness of the tourism industry by learning from Japanese practices and examining similarities specific to small islands through discussing and analysing issues of the participating countries.
Participants on the second course will acquire the knowhow for conducting effective branding and marketing by analysing the market needs and then developing the merchandise derived from the market needs survey and the results of its analysis.
Ms. Angela George, Senior Marketing Officer - Brand Development at the Saint Lucia Tourist Board and Mr. Esli Lafeuillee, Business Development Officer at the Small Business Development Centre, Department of the Ministry of Commerce, will represent Saint Lucia at the training courses in Japan.
This fiscal year, JICA has allocated nine courses to Saint Lucia in the areas of fisheries, disaster and environmental management, solid waste management, tourism and private sector development.
