Is Saint Lucia Beyond Repair?

The Star (St. Lucia) - - LOCAL -

I feel that the government is too shortsighted. What’s the 5, 10, 20 year plan for the island? I’m almost 50 and St. Lucia still has water issues after big rains! Why? Where’s the big investment in infrastructure? That’s the problem. We keep building fancy buildings, hotels, shops but build nothing to handle the pressure on the sewer system, electricity, water plants. I guess nothing will be done until there’s an outbreak of some disease that kills locals and completely deters tourists; then something will be done. - Michelle V Carasco is the Pope Jewish? The uncanny irate of your stiff upper lip, one has to wonder why you still live there. Where do you get your tuna? Can I suppose laden with nuclear waste from Japan’s Tsunami? The Saudi’s connection? The Libyan connection as well. With your “Boy” quest for Chinese Investors (notorious for spitting on the environment wherever they lay their hats), the stench of the Castries Harbour might be island-wide. No prime minister will ever address the pollution of Simply Beautiful. If they do, they will have to start with its biggest polluters: the hotel Industry. - King Majesty A lot, my friend. It has to start with the mentality too; that work is the foundation. Sad thing is, I see it’s getting out of control - the way people think and even treat each other nowadays. I recently visited and though overall I felt safe, I saw lots that needs improving: security, the roads, driving habits, the way business is done. Plus some folk seem to have sticky fingers - my friend and I both returned with a few missing items; for me it was perfume; for my friend a gold chain and cellular phone. So this goes deeper and as it is said charity begins at home. We’ve got to invest in our kids . . . - D’ior Travis You can share your views with us on www.stlucias Or like, comment and share on www.face stluciastar
