Is Saint Lucia Beyond Repair?
I feel that the government is too shortsighted. What’s the 5, 10, 20 year plan for the island? I’m almost 50 and St. Lucia still has water issues after big rains! Why? Where’s the big investment in infrastructure? That’s the problem. We keep building fancy buildings, hotels, shops but build nothing to handle the pressure on the sewer system, electricity, water plants. I guess nothing will be done until there’s an outbreak of some disease that kills locals and completely deters tourists; then something will be done. - Michelle V Carasco is the Pope Jewish? It has to start with the mentality too; that work is the foundation. Sad thing is, I see it’s getting out of control - the way people think and even treat each other nowadays. I recently visited and though overall I felt safe, I saw lots that needs improving: security, the roads, driving habits, the way business is done. Plus some folk seem to have sticky fingers - my friend and I both returned with a few missing items; for me it was perfume; for my friend a gold chain and cellular phone. So this goes deeper and as it is said charity begins at home.
